Overview
Suburban mixologists shake up their best martini in an attempt to win Best Martini in the ‘Burbs. It is both a contest and an event, featuring promotional and editorial coverage, both in print and online.
Contest
We invite bartenders and mixologists from area establishments to submit their best martini recipe. The recipe must include sponsor product, Then we publish the competing martinis and encourage readers to visit participating establishments to try the competing martinis and to vote. The top 10 mixologists are featured in Time Out and are invited to compete at the live Mix Off.
Event
The top 10 mixologists compete live before judges and an audience. They are judged on performance/ style, creativity and taste. They are asked to make enough to fill 30 sample glasses, which members of the audience have an opportunity try. The judges determine the First Place winner and the audience votes for the Fan Favorite. The event is open to the public and admission price includes a drink ticket, appetizers, martini sample, and live music. A cash prize is awared to the First Place winner and the Fan Favorite.
Sponsorship
Sponsorships are limited to one Presenting Sponsor and 10 Martini Sponsors. In addition to an impressive multi-media promotional package, Presenting Sponsor has the opportunity to host the event as well as determine ingredient requirements.
